Selection Interviewing

No. of days: 1 No. of participants: 6 - 14

Develop the skills and systems needed in order to recruit the right people

The cost of employing a new person has been estimated at about £20,000 based on; advertising, sorting CVs, interviewing, relocation costs, and training. Therefore, it is important to get your selection process right.

Interviewing is about much more than intuition - it's a scientific process. What does the job really involve? What sort of person do you want (for the best job fit and team fit)? How will you test for the qualities? What questions will you ask? How will you sift the CVs without losing a good candidate in error?

You then have to get the interview right (all the interpersonal skills, questioning, etc.), and then systematically compare the candidates to make the right choice.
